Is a full truckload cheaper than shared freight?

Per pallet, shared freight usually wins because you only pay for the deck space you use; per load, a full truckload becomes better value once you are filling most of the trailer. The $1.00 to $2.50 per km band covers both, with load size, route popularity and remoteness setting where you land. Adelaide to Darwin at $1,800 to $3,800 shows the remote-lane premium clearly. Tip: quote both configurations when your load is borderline; the crossover point moves with the season.
